Whitepark Bay SPRING MAY Fitness, Flow and Nutrition Wellness Retreat

We are so happy to announce our SPRING MAY FREEDOM RETREAT Saturday 5th January until Sunday 6th May. Whitepark Bay is a venue close to our hearts and we are really excited to get back up there to provide you with a special and unique retreat experience!

VENUE- Whitepark Bay Youth Hostel

ARRIVAL - Sat 5th May 2018 - 3pm
DEPARTURE - Sun 6th May 2018 - 1pm

ACTIVITIES - One 90 minute evening YOGA SESSION with RELAXATION and MEDITATION. This special hostel overlooks the breath taking Antrim coastline. Along with immersing ourselves in the great outdoors, we will also enjoy time within this amazing space. With our experienced Yoga instructor you will have the opportunity to unwind and relax to candle light, through gentle restorative yoga, winding down before bedtime.(All abilities welcome)

- A major highlight is our TWO BEACH FITNESS SESSIONS to give you the burst of energy you have been looking for to motivate you into the New Year. Suitable for all abilities, there is the opportunity to really challenge yourself if you feel ready. Guided and supported by Hollie,  we are excited for you to experience our beach cross training sessions and have lots of fun with the retreat community. (All fitness Levels)

- Evening Nutrition Workshop lead by the very talented Jane Mcclenaghan of Vital Nutrition 
We are excited to delve into the importance of eating for ENERGY AND IMPROVED WELLNESS. Jane will give us tips on ways to experience a more consistent level of good mental and emotional wellness through nutrition. Chatting about hormone balance, natural supplements, accessible healthy food choices, how best to support your training and so much more! Guests always leave these workshops feeling increased confidence in their own nutritional journey. Ready to make some lasting changes to support their wellness journey. 

(ALL ACTIVITIES ARE OPTIONAL) Perhaps you really need some space to relax and would like to only do some of the activities, this is YOUR time to unwind so we are happy for you to do what makes YOU happy!  

There will be time to relax, read, journal, sleep, go for a walk or hang out with the other residents.

Tasty and nutritious food is what we LOVE at Freedom Retreats, a thoughtfully designed vegetarian menu has been designed to support the activities you will be doing throughout the weekend. (ALL MEALS AND SNACKS/DRINKS PROVIDED)

HOSTEL - With the most amazing views Whitepark Bay Hostel is clean, comfortable and wonderfully managed by dream team Angela and Stephanie. As this is an affordable lower budget retreat, with lots of luxuries added in! It is important to note that accommodation is shared dormitory layout with some 2 bed bedrooms available on request and for just a little extra cost. Email us at info@freedomretreats.org to check availability of 2 beds. The dorms will be allocated Ladies and Men Only rooms. 

Once you have purchased your place, we will send you an email with everything you'll need to know to help assist you in your preparations.

**We encourage clients if possible to bring a sleeping bag or small duvet to help make sleeping more comfortable, as the mattresses are not of the highest quality and we want you to have a good nights sleep**

Wellness Retreat with Larchfield Estate

We are so pleased to announce our next wellness retreat at the magical Larchfield Estate. It's important to us to always be trying new things and remain creative with content and locations. As many of you find it difficult to get away for a night we wanted to provide an opportunity of a full day retreat experience, enabling you to enjoy a special escape away from the routine of life. With nature as our amazing backdrop to this location, surrounded by lush forests, blooming secret gardens and the tranquility of the most idyllic lake, your senses will be immersed in so much beauty from start to finish. Many of you have perhaps attended weddings at Larchfield, possibly not always getting time to soak up the magic of what it has to offer. This will be a day to slow down, recharge and connect with YOU.

~Weather dependent there will be gentle restorative yoga sessions planned, taking place in the walled garden if the weather is warm. Alternatively there is indoor space in one of Larchfield's many beautiful facilities. These sessions will be from beginner level through to advanced. If you have never tried yoga but have always wanted to experience it in a safe and inclusive environment, this could be a perfect opportunity for you.

~We are really excited to explore the many sides of an all encompassing wellness approach and along with physical practices, the space to be creative can evoke immense relaxation, positive feelings of affirmation and mental clarity that can only be realised when you stop and connect with your creative flow.

~Local Artist Zoe Phenix will be facilitating a creative workshop where you will get to explore colour, texture, pattern and form using natural elements. You will have the opportunity to create your own compositions and will be given pieces to enjoy at home.

This does not require you having any artistic background. We believe everyone is creative when given space and guidance to explore. This will be a very relaxed workshop to create a space for you to chat and enjoy playing and creating with beautiful natural materials.

~Nutrition is one of the most important components within Freedom Retreats and we are excited to bring you a fresh newly designed menu of vegetarian food. This may be an opportunity to kickstart an improved pattern of eating for overall health and will hopefully give you some new ideas to establish at home. This is not a detox retreat and we will encourage you to try new things and enjoy all of the alternative HEALTHY treats supplied by our favourite healthy bakers Harpers Yard in Belfast.

Our retreats are perfect to attend alone, bring a friend or partner. We are passionate about remaining friendly and inclusive for everyone.

On a first come basis, Larchfield Estate are inviting some of our guests that would like to take some extra time away to completely relax, and stay in their amazing newly refurbished self-catering cottages. This is not part of the retreat but a wonderful extension to your restful escape. There are a variety of options which you can book directly through Larchfield. The cost £120 per room, including self - catering supper and breakfast hamper. (The rooms are for max 2ppl and are varied with both double and single beds available)

Freedom Retreats are so excited to launch SOULFUL SUNDAYS. We understand how difficult it can be to include the practice of self care and important time out for yourself throughout your busy week. Heading off on a retreat and short break is not always possible. Perhaps you're not even sure what practice of restorative physical exercise would best suit you. With Soulful Sundays we want to guide you through an experience of rejuvenating and restorative physical practices such as YOGA, PILATES and many more. 

We are passionate about creating an environment that replenishes ALL of the senses and we are excited to offer alongside our sessions a wholesome BREAKFAST to enjoy with your fellow Freedom community! So Gals and Guys please come along and share 90 MINUTES of SERENITY, RELAXATION and MINDFULNESS with one of the most amazing natural backdrops you will experience within BELFAST CITY. A hidden gem so lovingly cared for by the Rangers at NATIONAL TRUST N.I, we are so grateful the National Trust share our vision for improving and celebrating overall health and wellness within the amazing outdoor space at TERRACE HILL GARDENMINNOWBURN (Elevated above the River Lagan Tow path)

The sessions will begin at 8.30am experiencing the best of a new day. They will run for 45 minutes. A picnic breakfast will then be served and you will have space to relax, chat and take in the amazing beauty that surrounds you!

Aged 16 and over ONLY, these will be ticketed events due to the need to limit session sizes. Sign up SOON and don't miss out! We are excited to meet you and journey into this new way of experiencing these local spaces around us.
